Weekly Photo Challenge : Faces

I love photographing faces!  My sons and my brother are usually my victims.

Weekly Photo Challenge : Path

My favourite paths are found in the Midlands, South Africa.

I can’t help myself, I have to include the best ‘path’ poem:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Up

My youngest used to be terrified of playing this game until my husband’s brother spent a bit of time with him.  It was wonderful to see the trust between the two.

Brother and Son

My sons think my brother is a superhero and I think this picture conveys the love.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Broken

Renovation on a building in my town.

In the dead of winter my son was climbing in our apricot tree.  One of the branches broke as he was standing on it.  I am pleased to see the new growth.

Broken wall

Old shed without window or door

My little guy was heartbroken because of some or other cousin spat.  Of course, five minutes later all was forgiven and off they went to play.

The face behind the eyes

This is my 3rd son.  He was born at 32 weeks.  We had been holidaying a few hundred kilometres from home when my waters broke.  After spending the day in hospital we decided to make a mad dash for home.  It took 6 hours to get to the hospital in our home town.  We managed to keep him comfortable for another week before he had to be delivered by c-section.  When the nurse brought him to me she said, “He has the biggest eyes I have ever seen in a newborn.”

Well those big brown eyes are still mesmerizing us and I am really glad he is around!
