On Wednesday I went for breakfast with my mother.  We decided to share a slice of lemon meringue  It was gigantic and we barely finished it!

The face behind the eyes

This is my 3rd son.  He was born at 32 weeks.  We had been holidaying a few hundred kilometres from home when my waters broke.  After spending the day in hospital we decided to make a mad dash for home.  It took 6 hours to get to the hospital in our home town.  We managed to keep him comfortable for another week before he had to be delivered by c-section.  When the nurse brought him to me she said, “He has the biggest eyes I have ever seen in a newborn.”

Well those big brown eyes are still mesmerizing us and I am really glad he is around!

Let’s not forget the cat!

Dogs come when they’re called; cats take a message and get back to you later.  ~Mary Bly

I couldn’t leave out our family cat.  She is 15 years old and still quite spritely.  She seems to accept the arrival of the puppy with good grace.

While waiting in the car….

Today my son came home with a watch that he got for having the most merits at school.  I just love the container that it came in.  While I was waiting in the car for him I took a few pictures.

I attended a wedding a while ago and was entranced with this heart that was hanging from the ivy.  The only problem is that it was blowing in the wind and it took a while for me to get the timing right.  Most of the pictures I took show the heart turned sideways.

A Trip to the Midlands

We took a trip to the Natal Midlands a few weeks ago.  It was breathtakingly beautiful.  I will have to go again in the summer to see the greenery!
